Create, review and update Variations or Change Orders from the mobile app.

Job changes do not always happen when you’re sitting at a desk.

With the latest update to Buildxact Onsite, you can now create and manage Variations ("Change Orders" in the US) directly from the mobile app.

Create changes from the job site

• When something changes on a job, you can now create a new Variation or Change Order directly from that job in Onsite. No need to wait for the computer back in the office.

View and edit existing changes

• Variations and Change Orders created in the Buildxact web app are also available in Onsite, so you can open, reference and update them while you’re out on site.

Keep the job in sync

• Changes are shared between Buildxact Onsite and the web app within your Buildxact account. Create it in one place, pick it up in the other, and keep the job moving.

When a client asks what changed on the job, you shouldn’t have to piece the answer together from multiple reports.

The new Variations / Change Orders Summary brings the key changes from the job into one place, so you can review them internally, print the report, or share it with your client.

Depending on how you invoice the job, the summary shows the numbers that matter:

• Contract Price or Completion %
  Contract + Adjusted Contract
• Cost Plus
  Estimated + Adjusted Estimate

You’ll find the report inside the job under Variations or Change Orders, depending on your region.

We’ve rolled out a few upgrades to Buildxact designed to make everyday work faster and easier:

• Clickable plan thumbnails in takeoffs - quickly preview your plan pages and jump straight to the one you need, without breaking your flow.
• Bulk delete for estimate costings - clean up estimates in seconds, especially when working from saved templates or Blu AI‑generated estimates.

I'm excited to share an update to cost plus projects that we think you're going to love. Today, we're releasing Project Breakdown for better cost plus reporting.

Project Breakdown brings estimated, actual and invoiced amounts together in one report, including builder markup. Now you can see where a cost plus project stands without exporting job cost and invoice data separately and having to combine it manually.

You can now create Template Crews and add a group of crew members to a project all at once.

Previously, each staff member or contractor needed to be searched for and selected individually for every project. Now, you can create reusable groups for the teams you regularly work with, such as:

• subcontractors and contractors
• plumbers
• electricians
• internal staff teams

When setting up a project, simply select the relevant template to add the full crew.

Buildxact will also clearly show any warnings where a template needs attention, such as when one of its contacts has been deleted.

A faster and easier way to manage your Buildxact Onsite crews.

Fewer emails, more control - Site Diary\Daily Logs just got easier to manage. The uplift includes:

• Control Site Diary/Daily Logs emails by user
  Choose who receives notifications for each job — no more email rules or workarounds.
• Clearer notification emails
  Emails now link directly to the specific Site Diary\Daily Logs post and include the job number.
• Faster image downloads
  Download single images or bulk images easily, both onsite and on desktop.

Small changes, big time savings.

We’ve moved mobile/cell verification to the dashboard.

This is part of our ongoing work to improve the login experience.

Verifying your mobile/cell number means you can receive a one-time passcode (OTP) via SMS, a quicker and more secure way of accessing your account. A small but helpful change to reduce friction.

Note - if you have already verified your mobile/cell number you won't see this dashboard modal.

We’ve made it easier to keep documents connected across Buildxact and QuickBooks.

• Purchase Orders → QuickBooks: PDFs and images attached to a Purchase Order in Buildxact now appear on the bill in QuickBooks.
• QuickBooks Bills → Buildxact: Bill attachments from QuickBooks are now imported into Buildxact and recorded on the related Purchase Order.

That means supporting documents - like receipts and PDFs - move with your transactions, giving you clearer context and more confidence when allocating costs.

Go to Sync Settings and make sure Import bills and Import documents are turned on.

Draw continuous lines
You can now click multiple times to create complex shapes in a single line. Simply double‑click or press Enter to finish—no need to restart your line each time.

Choose your line thickness
Select from 9 different line thicknesses to improve visibility on complex plans, large drawings, or printed takeoffs.
